Merry Go Round

Four cards are dealt face-down to each player, followed by six community cards laid face-down in front of the dealer in the shape of a circle. The first of these community cards of the dealer's choice is flipped over, followed by a betting round opened by the player to the dealer's left. The second of these six community cards if flipped over, followed by another betting round.

The dealer can determine that all betting rounds will be opened by the 'sucker' to his left (I'm not just using that term figuratively, 'sucker' is a term designating the player that has to open every betting round in a game) or that the responsibility of opening each betting round circulates around the table every time a card is flipped.

The game is over when all six community cards have been flipped over, followed by a betting round after each one. Each player combines the four cards dealt to them with any three cards in the circle that are adjacent to each other. The three cards chosen by the player must be touching each other, that is they must be subsequent in the circle. Of these seven cards, the player makes his best five card hand.

Merry-Go-Round is a far more tame name for this game than its other name, Death Wheel. The game was probably given the latter name by its first player, as figuring out your hand at the end of the game can be a long, unpleasant process. Once all six cards are flipped, nobody ever knows what they have. Some people just see all bets and figure out what they have when it comes time to call.
